life!

indeed, reader, i am alive and well.

the last 2 weeks in europe have provided many a story, including, but not limited to:

- finagleing a kindly Austrian store attendant into letting me try on lederhosen, as my grandmother uses 3 attempts to get a picture of me in them.

- watching bugs bunny in german

- on my final flight on the way home, as the attendant slams the door shut, the emergency exit sign coming off the wall.

so, after 36 hours of travel, tons of money, a few languages, etc etc, this is what i bring you: a few measly digital pictures.

ach du lieber.

Hans Castorp and I are getting close, real close.

I'm going to Germany on Tuesday. It's the first time I've been more nervous than excited about travelling anywhere. I don't know why. Well, yes I do know why. In either case, I'm gonna take a few pictures while I'm there. You might see some. Whomever you are. I'm leaving in less than 72 hours and I haven't found a suitcase yet. Gevalt.

It's a melancholy evening, the kind that begs some old blues on the record player and some dimmed lights.

What would Genghis Khan have had on his raping and pillaging playlists on his iPod? Death metal? Kenny G? I would like iTunes much more if they had those kinds of celebrity playlists.

I'll be your chip, you be my salsa verde. Brilliant.
